How to get yourself in a Flip Flop State of Mind #27 Stop by your neighborhood Lemonade Stand and make a kids day!
You want to turn your okay day into a Fantastic day?! Just pull up to a little entrepreneur's lemonade stand and watch the burst of excitement! I stopped by one the other day and before I put down my car window, I could hear the squeels of delight! Awesome, joyful, ear piercing screams and it made me and the Mom of the mini salespeople crack up! They jumped so high, it's like they were on trampolines!
You would have thought these kids just won the Publishers Clearinghouse!
The cup of refreshing lemon yum was 50 cents and well worth the stop. Knowing the outburst of tickled reaction I would get, I gave them a Tip, a whole Quarter! Oh boy, you could hear them in the next county I'm sure!
So next time you see an enthusiastic child holding up a Lemonade sign, pull over! I guarantee this is one of the quickest ways to get you and them in a Flip Flop State of Mind! Cheers!

Okay, it may not be fair of me to Firmly Believe that you all should go to the Beach this Summer to make your summer complete, so sorry! I just got back from Charleston, SC where I had the thrill of delivering an order to a couple of our OhanaKey customers - The Brick Shirt Store/Peace Frogs which is on Church Street in the Market area and MoonPie which is on North Market Street. So cool seeing our designs in these shops!!!
We took advantage of the week and of course, you guessed it, went to the Beach!!! So therapeutic! Like stepping into a painting, colorful beach umbrellas, beach chairs,coolers, beach blankets,beach towels, you see every color of the rainbow! Squeels of tickled children, laughter from formerly stressed adults getting in the Flip Flop State of Mind! I swear, just smelling the ocean air does something to me, I get in such a great mood instanly! So tell me why everyone should not want this experience this summer?! Now ask yourself, what you have to do to get there?!!! If you make it your goal to get to the Beach this Summer, I know you can make it happen!!! You deserve this bliss!!! Pull out the Family calendar, set the date! Pull out the Piggy Bank and start saving!!! Cut back on a few Coffee Shop trips and try some Ramen for lunch every once in a while and you will be suprised how quickly the cents will turn in to "Sand Dollars"!!! I crack myself up!!!

You know a few posts back I talked about a beach design that I was committed to finishing and bringing it to retailers? Well, I am practicing what I preach, I did it!!! Going Coastal was the design and it is done! As you know we now have our OhanaKey Beach Collection of shirts and hats in some Carolina Coastal retail shops!!! It is so easy to Dream, the tough part is in the making it a Reality!
I just delivered our first order to a beach shop, Two Blondes on the Beach and it was an amazing moment!
From a thought and a Dream 4 years ago while in Key West to the Reality moment of delivering our final product to a beach shop, just amazing!!! My hope is to inspire someone out there reading this blog to Go For It!!! Everyone has a Dream that can become your Reality!!! We have 5 shops that will be carrying our line, Wow!!! What is your Dream, do you want it bad enough to try to make it your Reality?
Our Beach Dreams are coming true!!! I long to live at the Beach and hopefully someday we will !!!

How to get in a flip flop state of mind # 22 we are pleased to announce that OhanaKey's Beach Collection is in a Beach shop! The shop is Two Blondes on the Beach in North Myrtle Beach on Main Street! It is so thrilling to have our designs in a store! Not only that, we are getting orders from 3 other stores too!!! The reaction has been amazing! This is a great lesson in never giving up! Never stop working toward your dreams!
Right after I got my first order, I went across to the beach, walked out facing the ocean, called my husband and told him the news! I thought that was the best possible place to tell him the best news to hit our family in years! I feel so incredibly blessed that God has given our family this incredible opportunity to spread good vibes and hopefully inspire.

#21 Beach, here I come!
Hello Flip Flop Friends! I am writing with some very exciting news!!! I have several Beach shops who want to see our Beach Collection! We have 4 designs we are featuring and presenting to potential buyers. We are confident that they will love the line, but it could not hurt to send us some good vibes!
I will let you know how it goes!
The 4 we are featuring are :
Going Coastal (printed) I thought of this one and saw it so clearly in my mind, on a shirt and in stores, almost like it had already happened, strange.
I'm Flippin out (the "flip" is a pair of flip flops!) also printed. My husband thought up this funny design, it is a full front design, really makes a statement!
I'm in a Flip Flop State of Mind - embroidered- This is how the whole line got started, our 1st design! My husband and I were on a Cruise and getting off the ship at Key West when I put my Flip Flops on. My husband said, "watch out, she's got her Flip Flops on!" I responded, "yep, I 'm in a Flip Flop State of Mind!"
Then our eyes met and we knew we had something! I said at that moment, I want to start a company, I see t-shirts, hats, etc. with " I'm in a Flip Flop State of Mind" on them.
Flip to the Flops -embroidered (a pair of high heels and then the words Flip to the Flop and then a pair of Flip Flops! Our son was 11 years old when he came up with this, because he said that I kicked off my heels and put on flip flop as soon as I walked in the door! He said "Mom, you Flip to the Flops!"
Keep the good vibes flowing our way and stay in that Flip Flop State of Mind!

How to get in a flip flop state of mind #20 A salute to the Pineapple!
Pick a fruit, any fruit! I choose the Pineapple, hands down my favorite above all other fruit! No offense to my close favorites like the orange, grape and the good old apple, but put the pine in front of that apple and you have got a slice of Heaven!!!
I love what the Pineapple symbolizes, it is a symbol of Hospitality, friendship, Welcome!
The sweetness of the pineapple is something to be appreciated. A celebration in your mouth!
You already know I love Hawaii and thanks to Dole, Pineapple is in abundance there. It is amazing to think of how much Pineapple is consumed in Hawaii, well all over the world for that matter, does anyone know?

One of my favorite places that I have discovered on earth so far is Hawaii ! Such a unique place, beyond just beautiful, even spiritual. I recently had a Hawaiian Dream, although I could not remember the particulars when I awoke, I felt a peace, a calm over my body, mind and soul. If you have been there,you know what I mean and if you have not been, please consider putting it on your list. You may have heard of the Aloha Spirit, it is a welcome that is full of love from the Hawaiian people, as well as from the Island itself, sounds strange, but trust me, it is true! If you are not in the position to go on this tropical escape any time soon, at least do a little planning or dreaming. Remember as my Sister says, the anticipation and planning of a trip is almost as much fun as the trip itself! Stop by a Travel Agency and pick up a Hawaii Brochure, go online and peek at all the amazing photos you can find, check out all the Hawaiian Islands and choose your favorite!
I will never forget seeing Don Ho singing Tiny Bubbles, although a bit tipsy, still a wonderful Hawaiian Memory, I long to go back!
Close your eyes for a moment and have a Hawaiian Day Dream! You are surrounded by beauty, a lush tropical playground. The warm breeze brings the most beautiful fragrance of Plumera, a Hawaiian flower that once you experiene the scent, you will never forget it.The sun warms you to your core. Hear the ocean waves as they meet the sandy shore, the sweetest sound you will ever hear.

I was so excited to see a new stock of Flip Flops on the shelves of our local stores! That along with bright sunny, warmer days is the sign of Flip Flop Season!!!
There is something awesome about a fresh new pair of Flip Flops! Just think, where those Flops will take you! Will it be a new Beach adventure, somewhere you have never been,a beautiful tropical paridise for you to explore for the very first time? Maybe an old favorite, somewhere you have visited many times in the past and look forward to with sweet anticipation! Either way, you know your new pair of Flip Flops will have stories to tell !!!
